Under the Waves and Over the Mountain

Under the Waves and Over the Mountain is a series of immersive installations combining painting and flickering illumination. Made from reappropriated and unconventional materials, the work mirrors the simplicity of the natural landscapes it evokes—showing that, like the sea or the mountains, art too can emerge from modest means. The light gradually shifts from day to night, transforming the landscape and guiding viewers on a visual journey from beneath the waves to above the peaks. Created through an initial performance, the work continues to perform through the rhythmic interplay of light, colour, and space, offering a meditative reflection on transformation, perception, and the fluid boundaries between nature, time, and the self.
