Yasmeen Sabri

I am an artist, experience designer, curator, and cultural consultant based in Amman, working at the intersection of art, heritage, and material exploration. My practice is performative and process-led: I tear, weave, assemble, and disrupt surfaces, freeing materials from their traditional obligations and allowing them to react, resist, and evolve on their own terms. I approach creation as a dialogue with matter—one shaped by instinct, tension, and the surprises that emerge when material is given agency.

Across painting, sculpture, installation, and immersive experiences, my work reflects the themes that define my practice: societal expectations, identity, and the space between self-expression and constraint. Many of my projects, such as Network of Swings and Walk a Mile, actively involve the audience or create environments where viewers interpret and experience the work in their own right. I aim not just to present an artwork, but to focus and immerse the audience within it.

I hold a BA in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins (2014) and a Master’s in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art (2016), grounding my dual approach as both artist and cultural strategist. As a producer and advisor, I have delivered major cultural initiatives across the Levant and GCC, including Noor Riyadh Festival, Amman Design Week, and Alserkal Avenue.

My work has been exhibited internationally at Somerset House, Sonar Festival, and Wadi Finan Gallery, and has been featured in publications such as Dezeen, Forbes, Monocle, and the London Feminist Film Festival. Through material investigation, performative making, and audience-centered experiences, I continue to explore the evolving relationship between heritage, contemporary culture, and the freedom to become.
