In Unbound Performance (2025), creation becomes an act of choreography—between material, intuition, and surrender. Using unconventional pigments gathered from paint shops, I place oil and water-based colors into contact, allowing them to meet, resist, clash, and eventually find their own rhythm. Their chemical disagreements become gestures. Their reactions become the script.
I tear at the fabric, pull at plastic, disrupt the surface—not to control it, but to unlearn it. In doing so, I free the canvas and paint from their inherited obligations. They are no longer instruments of depiction; they become performers in their own right, shaping their destinies through collision and release.
This dance of matter mirrors the dance of the self: how one exists, resists, conforms, and surprises even themselves. I act only as a guide—an instrument through which the materials move. The work reveals itself through chance, tension, and the poetry of matter becoming what it chooses to be.
