Tapping into themes of play, appropriation, and do-it-yourself, Sabri constructs Playhouse using cheap and found materials. Built from a simple wooden skeleton and metal mesh walls sourced from everyday DIY shops, the structure is enclosed with recycled plastic bags and discarded materials. The work reimagines the familiar childhood playhouse—an object of collective memory—while inviting public participation and interaction. Through its simplicity and accessibility, Playhouse opens a dialogue on sustainability, creativity, and community-led creation. It advocates for the importance of play and self-initiated forms of entertainment, especially in contexts where institutional or government-led cultural interventions are limited.
